Exciting news: the band we know and love are already talking about their return. They’ll be playing at the Rock In Japan 2010 festival this year and it sounds like that will only be the tip of the iceburg!
On today’s blog entry, the band announces that Hiro, Fumi and Yano are charging into 2010 and are starting from scratch to make a new Polysics sound, full of explosions and power.
After reading this amazing news, I went over to Shizu’s blog and sure enough, she has a small entry about it, but the main thing I noticed was the picture.
Down towards the bottom of the page on the Rock In Japan Festival website, there is the new promo picture for the new Polysics.

A very interesting picture indeed! The first thing that really pops out is, of course, the absence of Kayo. It’s very striking and still is a sore spot for many fans, but I also feel hope here. Both Fumi and Yano are looking to Hiro, who is looking forward, their brave leader. He’s not going to let Polysics die; in fact, he’s going to go full steam ahead and give us something totally different!!
At first glance, you see the glasses and think nothing of it. But no, I believe these are different glasses. I don’t think it’s just a glare–I think these are a shiny grey color! I immediately thought of DEVO’s new costumes, so maybe Hiro was inspired by his hero’s return to the new wave world.
The Budokan DVD hasn’t even been released yet but our tireless band is already ready to move forward. I know I can’t wait for the Rock in Japan Festival!!
So TOISU Polysics, and welcome back!!

Is it me, or it smells like a DEVO + POLYSICS tour on the way?

That would be so much fun!! They’ve played before DEVO before, but they’ve never done a tour, so I bet they’d be really excited to do that!!

@Jin: It seems that quite a few people liked polysics because of kayo ^^ and kayo will be missed, no doubt there ![]()
But I put my trust in Hiro, the music is my number 1 reason why I like them ^^

@Jin: Yeah, it will be hard to imagine Polysics without her, but it is already happening, so like Davy says, I am putting my trust in Hiro. He will do what’s best for the band and still make wonderful music!
